At the end of this session, the participant should be able to:
a. Use a range of Internet search tools to locate resources to support individualized or collaborative teaching and learning activities;
b. Evaluate and select web-based resources to enrich teaching and learning activities; c. Plan an activity that will allow students to utilize suitable web-based resources to promote concept learning.

1.Search Engines - A Web search engine is a tool designed to search for information on the World Wide Web. The search results are usually presented in a list and are commonly called hits. The information may consist of web pages, images, information and other types of files. i. General – Google www.google.com and Yahoo www.yahoo.com ii. ACTIVITY Identifying web-based resources for teaching and learning Task 4.1: Identifying web-based resources for teaching and learning
In this activity, participants will work in their groups and use search tools to find a range of web-based resources that will be useful in supporting lesson activities. Participants should note the following:
1. Web-based resources should include: lesson plans and activities, videos, interactive tutorials, quizzes and puzzles, games, test-making software, concept maps etc.
2. Document the useful websites in Table 1 (click on the link below to open the table). Add group members name to the document. 3. E-mail the completed table to: carronhalltraining@gmail.com
